Us
"My
father was a civil engineer and was in construction his entire
life. I can not
remember any type
of contractor coming into our house, my Dad believed that there was
nothing we could not build or fix ourselves. He lived in
that house for over 30 years!
It was no surprise that during my summers in High School, I
was the maintenance manager for a 100-acre amusement park built in
the early 1900’s along the Brandywine River. After college, I began
working on Wall Street and took up woodworking and antique
restoration & refinishing as hobbies. Over the years, I have
restored and/or remodeled numerous houses, ranging from 1800’s
Victorians to 1930’s farmhouses. After moving to
North
Carolina
in 1993, I purchased an old 40-acre tobacco farm and rebuilt it as a
goat farm, fences and all.
I discovered if I can build a fence to hold 85+ goats, I can
do just about anything! Circumstances
have brought me back to New
Jersey
and while I will miss the goats, I am ready for a refresher course
in being a Yankee and a taste of
Big
City
life."

The idea for
The Other
Man first came to
John
Bielski
when he was living in a newly constructed subdivision of 314
homes. Being the nice
guy that he is, John
soon found himself “helping” many new neighbors with home
improvement projects, ranging from building stonewalls to
supervising the “reconstruction” of a poorly built house. In a fit of non-regrettable
insanity, John
quit his day job as a Business Broker and decided to establish
The
Other Man.
The
Other Man
is
a small business planning to grow into a large business. When you call for service,
you will be treated with respect and courtesy. If we do not pick up the
phone, chances are we are under a sink somewhere or stuck in a
crawlspace. Your call
will be returned as soon as possible and we will work with you to
schedule an appointment at your convenience.
The
Other Man
will
show up to your house on time - if we are running late (it happens),
we will call you to let you know. We will take the time to
listen to you and discuss the work you want done. We stand
behind our work, taking pride in what we do. If you are not satisfied, we
will work with you to make sure everything is made right.
